Garbage Collection

The Borough of Lodi's garbage is collected curbside by CALI Carting, 201-991-5400. For the purpose of garbage collection the Borough is divided into two (2) zones with Zone 1 being collected Monday & Thursday and Zone 2 being collected Tuesday & Friday. Please note, recycling is collected town-wide on Wednesdays based on an alternating schedule

Collection Guidelines

Containers

  • Containers must be placed curbside after 6:00pm the night before your scheduled pick-up. Containers must be removed from the curb before 6:00pm the night of your scheduled pick-up.
  • Containers must be water tight and made of metal or plastic with a tight fitting cover and handles. Containers that are badly broken may be considered as park of the garbage and may be disposed of by the contractor. If this is the case, the contractor will place an identifying tag on the container notifying the resident of its unacceptable condition. If said container if used again in the unacceptable condition the container will be disposed of by the contractor.
  • Containers must be maintained in a manner that is not a danger to the health and safety of the community and the contractor.
  • Plastic garbage bags, not less than three (3) mil thick will be accepted as garbage containers only, NOT FOR RECYCLING. It is understood that the resident uses this means at their own risk.

2019 Holidays - No pick-up

There will be no collection of any kind on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Labor Day *PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO A DISCREPANCY ON THE RECYCLING MAILER THERE WAS GARBAGE COLLECTED ON 9/2 - WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY CONFUSION OR INCONVENIENCE
  • Fourth of July
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

2020 Holidays - No pick-up

There will be no collection of any kind on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Bulky Items

Items considered bulky are collected curbside according to the regular garbage schedule;
Zone 1 Monday & Thursday, Zone 2 Tuesday & Friday. We ask that you please disassemble items to the best of your ability to make them easier to handle, also please remove any large metal pieces as they are only collected with metal/white goods pick-up.

Bulky items include but are not limited to:

  • Couches
  • Dressers
  • Desks (non-metal)
  • Mattresses
  • Box Springs
  • Chairs
  • Tables
  • Cabinets (non-metal)
  • Bookshelves (non-metal)
    Please contact the DPW regarding any items that may not be listed.

Metal/White Goods

Please note that these items are collected by appointment only! If you require a pick-up of these items you must contact the DPW before 3:00pm on Wednesday to have your items picked up on Thursday of that week. You must speak with the secretary directly in order to confirm you are on the list and to be given further instructions. 

Metal/White Goods include but are not limited to:

  • Refrigerators (doors removed)
  • Stoves
  • Dishwashers
  • Washing Machines
  • Dryers
  • Air Conditioners
  • Metal Desks, Cabinets, Bookshelves, etc.
