The Borough of Lodi's "Public Tree Board" is looking for members.
The
Public Tree Board shall be made up on seven (7) members, who are to be
residents of the Borough. Members will be appointed by the Mayor with
consent of the Council. Once appointed, members will serve a three (3)
year term. Members of the Public Tree Board shall serve without
compensation.
It shall be the responsibility of the board to:
- Study,
investigate, develop and update annually a written suggested plan for
the planting, pruning, care, preservation, replanting, removal or
disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, along streets and in other
public areas
- Develop, supplement and amend as required, a set of
written planting specifications, consistent with existing ordinances,
which shall regulate soil requirements, mechanics of planting, spacing,
bed preparation, and other matters of reasonable concern with respect to
planting of street trees and park trees
- Develop, supplement and
amend as required, a table or list which shall recommend preferable
species of trees, bushes, shrubs, ground covers and other plants
suitable for use for various purposes and under various conditions
within the Borough of Lodi
- Consider, investigate, make findings,
report and/or recommend upon any special matter within the scope of its
work when requested by the Borough Manager
