Dog & Cat Licensing

LICENSING YOUR DOGS & CATS IS THE LAW!

The Borough of Lodi encourages all dog and cat owners to license their pets annually with the Borough's Health Department. This is the law and compliance brings benefits to you, your pet and the community.

There are many reasons to register and license your pet.

  • You can think of your pet's license as a way to ensure a free ride home in case it is lost. Anyone who has lost a pet knows how we worry about them until they are safe at home. The license tag can be quickly used to find your name and address and the authorities can notify you. This will bring about a quick reunion.
  • Licensing is a way for the community to ensure that pets are vaccinated against rabies, a terrible disease that is fatal to dogs and cats.
  • The fees from licensing stay in the community and helps fund rabies clinics and support the animal control efforts in your community.
  • The cost of the license is far less than the fine imposed if your dog or cat is found without a license.
  • Last, but not least, it is the LAW!

In the Borough of Lodi the fee for licensing a dog and cat are:

  • Neutered/Spayed: $8.00/pet
  • Non-Neutered/Spayed: $11.00/pet

Pet Licensing (non-dog/cat)

In addition to the required registering of dogs & cats within the Borough it is also encouraged that pet owners register all pets, big and small via our online form. There are no fees for non-dogs/cats.

Registering your pet gives our departments, first responders and emergency services the information needed to ensure the health, safety and welfare of your pets and anyone entering your home in an emergency and will assist the Lodi Police Department with locating the owner of any found pets.

Information is kept confidential and is only accessible to those Borough representatives with a direct need for the information.
